An Accidental Picture, then a Mystery

Okay, this picture was an accident, but it was interesting, so I thought I'd share it with you. The central theme of the picture is that tiny dot near the middle. If you think you know what this is, leave a comment. I'll post the answer tonight!

It almost looks like a reflection of an oncoming train and the headlamp of the train engine. Is that your arm & hand in the photo, also? Was this photo taken in the car? I like mysteries and trying to solve them!

I think you were holding the camera backwards or in your hand when pressing the shutter. I think it is your hand with the carrying cord wrapped around your wrist. I've seen something similar previously -- on my own camera when I've done it. ;)

By the way I absolutely love your blog. We've spent some time in Petoskey last summer and this summer (our blog is www.greatlakescruising.blogspot.com) and are planning to relocate to Petoskey soon. In the meantime, I enjoy recognizing places we've been when they show up in your pictures. I think your earliest pictures were of Roast and Toast and Maclean & Eakins - probably my two favorite Petoskey businesses. I don't recall if you've done a a picture of their farmer's market, but that's a favorite of ours too.

For those who like the mystery solved, it is actually a picture of my hand holding the camera and the car seat as well reflecting in the car window. The dot that was the main focus of the picture is actually the moon, it was a full and lovely orange that night. But as I was in the car and the flash went off, this oops was created!

Sometimes the most interesting shots are complete accidents, and always the most unique.
