Michigan's State Flower

Is the Apple Blossom. These are a few apple blossoms from my front yard--the very first apple blossoms I've had on my trees! It is very exciting, as we've had them for 4 years with nary a blossom to be found before. They are beautiful, as you can see, with a dark pink bud that opens to a creamy white/pink blossom. Hope you're enjoying the day today. We're enjoying the rain which should bring the fire danger down considerably.

A Rainy Day!

We had an actual rainy day last weekend--two in a row in fact! It hadn't really rained in several weeks, which makes for great vacation weather, but played havoc on all the grass, trees, and flowers. I'm so glad the front lawn is looking greener again!

What a storm!

We had a doozy of a storm tonight! It was a gorgeously sunny day, temperatures in the mid 80's and so nice. Then, the clouds came, the wind started whipping around, and the rain pelted! It was all over in a few minutes, but it was intense while it lasted!

It's Raining, It's Pouring...

..the old man is snoring. I'm sure you've heard that rhyme many times before, but it is especially apt this week when we've had so much rain! I can't remember the last whole day without rain, but it has been awhile! It has also been about 10 degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. My flowers and grass are loving it, but I'm really ready for warm temperatures and sunshine, lots of sunshine!!
